Florian Ducommun studied law at the University of Lausanne, focusing mainly on private law and intellectual property (with a final paper about open-source licenses). He also studied in Berlin, Germany. He obtained a postgraduate degree (LL.M) in Comparative Law from McGill University in 2006, with a specialization in comparative intellectual property law.

After his postgraduate degree, Florian Ducommun worked successively at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and in commercial and technology law firms in Switzerland.

In 2021, Florian Ducommun joined Bonnard Lawson as a partner in charge of strengthening Bonnard Lawson Tech, a division of Bonnard Lawson specialized in technology and innovation law.

Florian Ducommun advises clients mainly in the fields of technology and innovation law, Fintech, Blockchain, Financial Markets, Contracts, Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law.
